Legendary bass player Pete Way<\/strong>, founder of UFO<\/strong>, WAYSTED<\/strong> and THE PETE WAY BAND<\/strong>, has passed away at the age of 69. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pete sustained life-threatening injuries in an accident two months back but battled hard until finally dying due to those injuries on Friday, August 14. His wife, Jenny<\/strong>, was with him at the time he died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“<\/strong>Best known for his work with UFO<\/strong>, Pete<\/strong>‘s energetic live performances were at the heart of the band’s countless world tours. His melodic bass lines underpinned the catalog of enduring rock classics upon which UFO<\/strong>‘s reputation and legacy were founded. Pete<\/strong>‘s post-UFO<\/strong> work included collaborating with “Fast” Eddie Clarke<\/strong> from MOT\u00d6RHEAD<\/strong> \u2014 the two putting together FASTWAY<\/strong> with HUMBLE PIE<\/strong> drummer Jerry Shirley<\/strong> \u2014 and playing bass for his longtime friend Ozzy Osbourne<\/strong>. He then put together his own band WAYSTED<\/strong>. Pete<\/strong>‘s keen ear for song arrangements have also seen him serve as producer for popular hard rock acts such as TWISTED SISTER<\/strong> and the COCKNEY REJECTS<\/strong>.” – Blabbermouth.net<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pete<\/strong> recently completed a solo album, “Walking On The Edge”<\/strong>, with producer Mike Clink<\/strong> (GUNS N’ ROSES<\/strong>‘ “Appetite For Destruction”<\/strong>, among many more). He put out a biography titled, “A Fast Ride Out Of Here”<\/strong>, in 2017, and an album, “Amphetamine”<\/strong>, which is currently out on Cargo Records<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
