{"id":81669,"date":"2020-07-04T08:09:26","date_gmt":"2020-07-04T13:09:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/themetalden.com\/?p=81669"},"modified":"2020-07-04T08:09:27","modified_gmt":"2020-07-04T13:09:27","slug":"kiko-loureiro-releases-overflow-single","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/themetalden.com\/?p=81669","title":{"rendered":"KIKO LOUREIRO &#8211; Releases &#8216;Overflow&#8217; Single"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Kiko Loureiro - Overflow [Audio]\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/A85IV-ZMTU0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>MEGADETH<\/strong> guitarist <strong>Kiko Loureiro<\/strong> has unleashed a new solo single titled <strong>&#8220;Overflow.&#8221;<\/strong> This is the third single from <strong>Loureiro<\/strong>&#8216;s fifth solo album, <strong>&#8220;Open Source&#8221;<\/strong>, which is slated to drop on July 10th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Last week, <strong>Loureiro<\/strong> released <strong>&#8220;Imminent Threat&#8221;<\/strong>, the LP&#8217;s second single, featuring a guest appearance by former <strong>MEGADETH<\/strong> guitarist <strong>Marty Friedman<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>&#8220;Open Source&#8221;<\/strong> will include an instrumental titled <strong>&#8220;EDM (e-Dependent Mind)&#8221;<\/strong>, which was released as a single last month. The track features <strong>Loureiro<\/strong> on guitar and keyboards, as well as <strong>Felipe Andreoli<\/strong> on bass and <strong>Bruno Valverde<\/strong> on drums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>&#8220;Open Source&#8221;<\/strong> will be the follow-up to <strong>&#8220;Sounds Of Innocence&#8221;<\/strong>, which was released in June 2012.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Loureiro<\/strong> said: &#8220;By definition, &#8216;open source&#8217; is related to softwares which the original source code is made freely available and may be redistributed and modified. It brings us a higher sense of community, enhances our creativity and creates new possibilities. So why not take this concept to our art, our music? How much richer a song could be if others had access to its source code? What if the song&#8217;s original composition wasn&#8217;t the final product? What if it was just the beginning? Something that could be constantly updated and evolve over time. And as well as a machine, we as humans are also minded to enhancements, being an open source ourselves, constantly moving and growing, through technology, science, spirituality\u2026 and art.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">&#8220;This is the mindset which I bring now to my fifth solo album, that was named&#8230; guess what? OPEN SOURCE!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">&#8220;My compositions and recordings are not the final objective of the album, but rather the start. I want you to have access to the way I created the album concept, to the songs and to how I played them. In addition, I will make the stems available for download. So you can remix, recreate and make new versions of it. And I can&#8217;t wait to see what you&#8217;re gonna create from that. I can expect different approaches and better versions than mine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">&#8220;To make all this possible, I&#8217;m doing a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indiegogo.com\/projects\/kiko-loureiro-new-open-source-album#\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">crowdfunding campaign<\/a>and stretching goals to be able to create and share even more with you.
