Finnish power metal band METAL DE FACTO<\/strong>\u00a0have unleashed their debut album ‘Imperium Romanum’<\/em><\/strong> via Rockshots Records<\/strong>! To celebrate the event, the band has also released the lyric video of ‘Legionnaires’ Oath<\/em><\/strong>‘, available on Youtube at the following link:\u00a0https:\/\/youtu.be\/lQvumDCVzDY<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Singer Mikael Salo<\/strong> and bass player Sami Hinkka<\/strong> comment about the song: “‘Legionnaires’ Oath’<\/strong> talks about the legionnaires, heavy infantrymen of the Roman army who were revered as some of the most feared warriors at the time. It delves into the mindset of these soldiers, and the oath that they took to serve Rome for at least 25 years, the loyalty and the mental fortitude it required. Musically, ‘Legionnaires’ Oath’<\/strong> hoasts a powerful pounding drum beat paired with a commanding lead guitar melody. The chorus then explodes to an epic choir that speaks of military might and conquest, both sorrowful yet glorious!”

‘Imperium Romanum’ <\/strong>was recorded, mixed and mastered at Goodman Studios<\/strong> and Tadaa Music Studio<\/strong> by Esa Orjatsalo<\/strong>. The artwork was created by the renowned Hungarian artist Gyula Havancs\u00e1k<\/strong> (Blind Guardian\u2019s Twilight Orchestra, Stratovarius, Accept, Grave Digger, Powerwolf<\/strong><\/em> and many more). The album also features a spoken word part by Maurizio Iacono<\/strong> (Kataklysm, Ex-Deo<\/strong>) in the last song ‘Germanicus’.<\/em><\/strong>
The band also recently released two further singles:

The band was formed in late 2017 by Esa Orjatsalo<\/strong> (ex-Dreamtale<\/em>) and Sami Hinkka<\/strong> (Ensiferum<\/em>), who had met and discussed the deeper meanings of power metal in Ensiferum’s tour bus. The line-up was soon completed with Atte Marttinen<\/strong> (ex-Kivimets\u00e4n Druidi<\/em>), Benji Connelly<\/strong> (Everfrost<\/em>), Mikko Salovaara<\/strong> (Leverage<\/em>) and Mikael Salo<\/strong> (Everfrost<\/em>).
