With the birth of his new child imminent, Korn<\/strong> guitarist James \u201cMunky\u201d Shaffer<\/strong> will be sitting out the band\u2019s August 06th-11th dates with JR Bareis<\/strong> of Spoken<\/strong>, ex-Islander<\/strong>, etc. fame tapped to fill-in. Bareis<\/strong> of course has a longstanding relationship with Korn<\/strong> guitarist Brian \u201cHead\u201d Welch<\/strong>, with the two still currently members of Love And Death<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shaffer<\/strong> commented of the situation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSince our family is waiting any day now for the birth of our daughter, I won\u2019t be performing starting on Tuesday August 6th through Sunday August 11th .I\u2019ll be back in Detroit. I\u2019m going to miss you all very much on those dates. But, you\u2019re in great hands with our close friend and brother @jrbareis95 who is filling in for me\u2026and of course the rest of @korn_official who will carry the load.

Korn<\/strong> are currently out on the road ahead of the September 13th release of their new album \u201cThe Nothing<\/strong>\u201c. Their current touring finds them co-headlining a run with Alice In Chains<\/strong> that finds Underoath<\/strong> and more opening. The remaining dates for that trek include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
