The new STATIC-X<\/strong> album \u201cProject Regeneration<\/strong>\u201d will be arriving a bit later than expected according to the band. The group shared an update on that effort overnight, revealing the discovery of more vocal tracks from the late Wayne Static<\/strong><\/a> this past spring as being one of the reasons they\u2019ve pushed back their timeline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That discovery led to them having to start from scratch on new material while other songs had to be reworked. Another apparent factor in the delay is securing a label deal for the release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The band\u2019s Tony Campos<\/strong>, Koichi Fukuda<\/strong> and Ken Jay<\/strong> reunited for the upcoming record and a 20th anniversary tour behind the band\u2019s debut album, \u201cWisconsin Death Trip<\/strong>\u201c. For the new material they\u2019ve largely been using previously unreleased recordings from the band\u2019s late vocalist\/guitarist Wayne Static<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their early plans had a number of guest vocalists being brought in to flesh out the album, with the following participants having been approached:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Edsel Dope<\/strong> himself has been rumored to have been the live replacement tapped to fill-in for Static<\/strong>, performing in a necrotized Wayne Static<\/strong>-like mask under the name of \u2018Xero<\/strong>\u2018. You can read the band\u2019s full update on the album delay below with the first leg of their \u201cWisconsin Death Trip<\/strong>\u201d 20th anniversary tour set to commence next week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That leg will find them out with DevilDriver<\/strong>, Dope<\/strong>, Wednesday 13<\/strong> and Raven Black<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
