\nOn the 22nd of September 2017, DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT played a special show at the Ancient Roman Theatre in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the landmark Ocean Machine album in full, as well as a set of fan-requested tracks alongside the Orchestra of Plovdiv State Opera. This concert was filmed, and on July 6, 2018 it will see the light of day as Ocean Machine \u2013 Live at the Ancient Roman Theatre Plovdiv.<\/p>\n

\nOver the course of Devin Townsend\u2019s storied career, a single constant has persevered: change. As far back as Steve Vai\u2019s Sex & Religion, which Townsend fronted, to 2001\u2019s landmark full-length Terria to the multi-instrumentalist\u2019s country rock outfit Casualties of Cool to his stunning new album Transcendence, the Canadian isn\u2019t too interested in keeping an even musical keel. To stay the proverbial course is, well, anathema. For certain, he\u2019s far too impatient to write the same Strapping Young Lad song over and over\u2014which is why he folded the band in 2007\u2014and it\u2019s likely there will never be a fourth or fifth Ziltoid album (a third if we\u2019re lucky) because by that point he\u2019ll be in a totally different frame of mind for galactic puppets gone awry.
