\nAMORPHIS have announced \u201cQueen Of Time\u201d to be the title for their new album, which is slated to be released on May 18th via Nuclear Blast. Recording sessions once again took place with producer Jens Bogren (Opeth, Amon Amarth). Lead vocalist Esa Holopainen commented:<\/p>\n
\u201cI guess \u2018Queen Of Time\u2018 turned out as a massive surprise to all of us. During the rehearsing and pre-production we didn\u2019t have any idea that Jens had this huge picture inside of his head about the landscape of the album. It\u2019s a very natural continuation to \u2018Under The Red Cloud\u2018 but with steroids.<\/p>\n
The songs are more aggressive but there\u2019s more dynamics, harmonies and orchestral arrangements present. The result is Amorphis as something you\u2019ve never heard before! Essentially, working with Jens worked really well. As a person he is very similar to us \u2013 we share the same kind of weird humor and we all like to work hard.\u201d

\nThe album also notably finds the return of bassist Olli-Pekka \u2018Oppu\u2019 Laine to the fold. He had the following to say of that:<\/p>\n
\u201cEven though the last year with Amorphis has been exciting, nostalgic and fun, it\u2019s also been truly comfortable to be with the guys again. As a clich\u00e9d expression, it\u2019s been like returning home from a lengthy odyssey. After eighteen years, it feels like we are picking up where we left off from the good ol\u2019 days! I\u2019m really looking forward for the upcoming tour.<\/p>\n
The new album itself is a really strong package, the only hard thing will be picking which songs to play live! It\u2019s safe to say we are set to pull off some killer shows over the next few years.
