\nFormer MOT\u00d6RHEAD guitarist “Fast” Eddie Clarke has died at the age of 67, it has been confirmed via Mot\u00f6rhead’s Facebook page:<\/p>\n

“We are devastated to pass on the news we only just heard ourselves earlier tonight \u2013 Edward Allan Clarke, or as we all know and love him Fast Eddie Clarke \u2013 passed away peacefully yesterday.
\n\u201cTed Carroll, who formed Chiswick Records, made the sad announcement via his Facebook page, having heard from Doug Smith that Fast Eddie passed peacefully in hospital where he was being treated for pneumonia.<\/p>\n

\u201cFast Eddie… keep roaring, rockin\u2019 and rollin’ up there as goddamit man, your Mot\u00f6rfamily would expect nothing less!<\/p>\n

\u201cRIP Fast Eddie Clarke \u2013 5th October 1950 – 10th January 2018.\u201d<\/p>\n

Clarke was introduced to Lemmy by drummer Phil \u201cPhilthy Animal\u201d Taylor in the mid-70s and he joined Mot\u00f6rhead soon afterwards in 1976. He played on Mot\u00f6rhead\u2019s self-titled 1977 debut album and also on 1979\u2019s Overkill and Bomber, 1980\u2019s Ace Of Spades and 1982\u2019s Iron Fist.<\/p>\n

Clarke left Mot\u00f6rhead while on tour in the US with the group following the release of Iron Fist. The guitarist reportedly was unhappy with how that effort turned out, and went on to form Fastway with ex-UFO bassist Pete Way.<\/p>\n

Fastway released their self-titled debut album in 1983, and went on to release a further six studio releases – including the 2011 comeback album Dog Eat Dog.
