\nFormer MEGADETH guitarist Marty Friedman has unleashed a rocking new music video for the song \u201cWhiteworm”. Check it out below. Junya Masuyama directed the video with Friedman stating of the filming:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe \u2018Whiteworm\u2018 video has a definite \u2018real world\u2019 Japanese look, but not the over the top \u2018exported Japanese look\u2019 that many people are familiar with when they see Japan related content. It was directed by top class Japanese music video director Junya Masuyama, who has done hit videos with superstars of every genre of Japanese music.<\/p>\n

I chose him to challenge him to put a foreigner (myself) into a very Japanese atmosphere in such a way that was not \u2018Japan overload\u2019. It was quite easy for him to do so, as his videos tend to be minimalistic, with the focus on one or two subtle themes. In this case the themes being the very delicate and simple idea of a little boy playing a video game waiting for the rain to stop, and me playing aggressively and calmly.<\/p>\n

Japan can be known for its wildness, but it also corners the market on subtle things. I went the subtle route on this video to contrast with the wildness of the guitar work in \u2018Whiteworm\u2018.\u201d Friedman\u2018s new album \u201cWall Of Sound\u201d is due to land in stores this Friday, August 04th. He will commence this headlining U.S. tour in support of it tonight, August 2nd.
