\nTMD shares an enhanced live audio bootleg recording of SOUNDGARDEN performing their final song on May 17th in Detroit. Just a little over an hour later (on May 18th) frontman Chris Cornell would be dead at 52 years of age due to what has been ruled “suicide by hanging”. Listen below.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Blind Willie Johnson originally recorded the song during his first recording session on December 3, 1927, as “Jesus Make Up My Dying Bed”. Record producer Rick Rubin has remarked on the song’s structure, “The bass line in the fast grooves is so interesting and unexpected. It keeps shifting gears, over and over.”<\/p>\n

It is rumored that Chris Cornell was being considered by Jimmy Page at one point in recent years to replace Robert Plant in Led Zeppelin.<\/p>\n

The private funeral for the late rocker was held today in Los Angeles. One of the all time great rock stars has truly left the building. Now the listener can experience the best sounding bootleg available of his final song with his incredible band.<\/p>\n
