\nFormer PANTERA\/DOWN bassist Rex Brown has signed a worldwide deal with eOne Music for the release of his as-yet untitled solo debut. Brown worked on the album with friend Lance Harvill and tracked the lead vocals, rhythm guitars and bass on the outing. Drummer Christopher Williams handled the studio percussion on the effort while producer Caleb Sherman produced the outing. Peter Keyes (Lynyrd Skynyrd) also guests on a few tracks.<\/p>\n
Brown said of the outing, which is due later this year:<\/p>\n
\u201cMy motto these days is \u2018Shake some shit up. I\u2019ve had my ups and downs, like anybody in this business. I wanted to feel like a true artist again, where I can write and record songs without worrying about any of the bullshit. This is just something else I\u2019m doing for fun, man. And musical Freedom. Fun has to come into it or I\u2019m not going to do it. I\u2019ve had a tremendous career and now I feel like I\u2019m twenty five years old again. This has given me that freedom I needed. I\u2019ve got so much more in me, I\u2019m just getting my feet wet.\u201d
