ROOT was founded in Czechoslovakia (now Czech Republic) at the end of ’87. Although they have released 10 full length albums during their nearly 30 year history (the newest coming in November 2016), most of their fans cite their first two Zjeveni and Hell Symphony as the band’s best output. Similar to their countrymen Master’s Hammer, rather than trying to push the limits of speed or aggression as many of their BM contemporaries did, these two albums are more focused on building atmosphere and using rhythmic patterns to hypnotize the listener. \nOne of the earliest black metal bands to emerge from behind the iron curtain, Czech legends ROOT have built a cult fanbase with their unique take on the genre.<\/p>\n

\nWith a new album coming out in November of 2016 and many live shows being booked (including their first appearance in the USA at the 2017 Maryland Deathfest), this reissue will give fans both old and new the ability to celebrate one of the legends of the black metal genre.
