\nClassic metal band FLOTSAM AND JETSAM announce today their new management deal with Salem Rose Music.<\/p>\n
The group released a stellar self-titled new album on May 20th via AFM Records. The album has been hailed as the band\u2019s best work in years, as evidenced by reviews like ours (BraveWords)\u2026 \u201cEvery Flots song is a fist-fight in a dark alley. Not that the band are ugly pugilists, but the punchy vibe that\u2019s created is akin to a Rocky film. Flotsam And Jetsam is full of piss and vinegar, vivacious highs, stirring lows, like a good metal record should be! And no matter what their age, they can literally pound the shit out of any competition, cuz Flotsam And Jetsam (the album) is that exceptional!\u201d<\/p>\n
Salem Rose Music is the management company of former Century Media Records President and Metal Blade employee Marco Barbieri. With 20 plus years in the business Marco is excited to work with one of his favorite bands.<\/p>\n
Says Barbieri: \u201cI go back with Flotsam as a fan since the beginning. I was first exposed via the Metal Massacre VII compilation in 1986 and immediately picked up their debut, Doomsday for the Deceiver, the same year. I wrote the band praising them for their work and wound up becoming friends with then-bassist Jason Newsted. In many ways working for Flotsam was my introduction to the business as he asked me then to help spread the word so I created an in-store display at the local record shop and arranged an interview with the local radio station. I\u2019ve followed the group since and have seen them live on every tour. With the addition of Shadows Fall drummer Jason Bittner to their ranks they\u2019ve added a more aggressively modern progressive energy to their melodic thrash\/speed metal.
