DREAM THEATER Drummer Confirms ‘Score’ DVD Extras<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

DREAM THEATER<\/strong> drummer Mike Portnoy<\/strong> has commented on the extra material that will be included with the band’s forthcoming live CD\/DVD package, “Score – 20th Anniversary World Tour: Live with the Octavarium Orchestra”<\/strong>, due on August 29 through Rhino Records<\/strong>. The disc is expected to contain the following bonus features: Tour Documentary, Octavarium Cartoon, “Another Day”<\/strong> (live in Tokyo, 1993), “The Great Debate”<\/strong> (live in Bucharest, 2002), and “Honor Thy Father”<\/strong> (live in Chicago, 2005).<\/div>\n

\nIn response to complaints on his official forum regarding the rumored list of DVD extras, Portnoy<\/strong> has posted the following message: “I chose the bonus live tracks based on songs that haven’t previously been on any of our DVDs. I’d think that would be a criteria that is ‘important.’ The 60-minute documentary is FILLED with old, rare and never-before-seen footage. And in case you didn’t notice, the concert itself spans the band’s entire career with songs from every era…<\/p>\n

“Please, people, I have poured my heart, soul, blood, sweat and tears (and not to mention two months of my ‘vacation’) into this DVD to make it an amazing DT experience. Please don’t bitch and moan because the bonus contents don’t meet your ‘needs’ or expectations… Especially before even seeing it!!! This is one of the reasons I was avoiding announcing the bonus material too far in advance, but I guess the cat’s out of the bag.<\/p>\n

“Trust me, this DVD KICKS ASS!”<\/p>\n

As previously reported, the 3-CD (cover<\/a><\/span>) and 2-DVD (cover<\/a><\/span>) sets will be available separately. Both versions will contain the entire “20th Anniversary World Tour”<\/strong> grand finale recorded live at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on April 1, 2006 (nearly three hours of music \u2014 over 90 minutes of which was performed with a full orchestra). The DVD will also contain a one-hour documentary tracking the entire career of the band from the very beginnings at the Berklee College Of Music in 1985 all the way to the Radio City Music Hall grand finale.<\/p>\n

Portnoy<\/strong> has previously stated about the Radio City Music Hall show, “Without going into too much detail, I have to THANK all of you in attendance at Radio City Music Hall for helping to make [the April 1] show one of the most incredible evenings of my life.<\/p>\n
