\nAfter a 19-year hiatus, raucous rockers UGLY KID JOE are set to return with a new full-length album entitled, Uglier Than They Used Ta Be.<\/p>\n
The album, which was recorded at JT Studios and Balance Studios in Louisiana under the helm of producer and UKJ guitarist Dave Fortman (Slipknot, Godsmack, Evanescence), is scheduled for release in North America October 16th via Metalville\/UKJ Records.<\/p>\n
Whitfield Crane (Vocals) and Klaus Eichstadt (Guitars) teamed up with Sonny Mayo (Guitars), Shannon Larkin (Drums), Zac Morris (Drums), Cordell Crockett (Bass) and Dave Fortman (Guitars) to form the now 7-member line up a.k.a. \u201cSeven Headed Monster\u201d and write and record in the studio. The result is the most cohesive sounding UGLY KID JOE record to date.<\/p>\n
The chemistry flows so well throughout this new release, it\u2019s as though they never left. Uglier Than They Used Ta Be boasts a collection of well-crafted rock tunes, from the riff driven \u2018Let The Record Play\u2019 to the hard-hitting \u2018She\u2019s Already Gone\u2019 and \u2018Hell Aint Hard To Find\u2019, the album offers up a collection of some of the best songs ever written by the band.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a full circle of sorts,\u201d says Crane. \u201cThere was a lot of love and talent in one room and that is exactly what this album sounds like.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to the nine newly written original songs, the album features a couple of cover songs including Rare Earth\u2019s version of \u2018Papa Was A Rolling Stone\u2019 with Australian chart-topping vocalist Dallas Frasca lending her unmistakable vocals behind Crane, and the Mot\u00f6rhead classic \u2018Ace of Spades\u2019 with a very special guest appearance from Mot\u00f6rhead guitarist Phil Campbell who lends his signature sound to the timeless track. Campbell also appears on the tracks \u2018My Old Man\u2019 and \u2018Under The Bottom\u2019.<\/p>\n
This September the band will head to the UK for an intimate tour finishing with two shows at the Underworld in London.<\/p>\n

Having first garnered success with the song \u201cEverything About You,\u201d which peaked at number three on the Billboard Top 100 Singles chart [enjoying 20 weeks on the charts] and was later used in the movie Wayne\u2019s World, the group\u2019s debut E.P.
