\nDeath-saluting metal collective, GRUESOME, will take to the streets next month on a short run of live performances. Following an appearance at Obscene Extreme America Fest in Montreal next month, the band — which features guitarist\/vocalist Matt Harvey (Exhumed), drummer Gus Rios (Malevolent Creation), guitarist Daniel Gonzalez (Possessed) and bassist Robin Mazen (Derketa) — will kick off a mini tour in September, waging their classic Schuldiner-styled odes upon the ears of Tampa, Miami, Orlando, Cave-In-Rock, San Diego and Los Angeles. GRUESOME pays homage to death metal’s most celebrated founding American acts, Death. As such, their debut full-length, Savage Land, released earlier this year via Relapse Records, is a delightfully punishing display of late-’80s\/early-’90s Florida-styled death metal that keeps the true sound and spirit of Chuck Schuldiner and Death alive.<\/p>\n
