\nGet ready for TURISAS to paint your town red and black again! The band has now revealed the first details about their upcoming album: Turisas2013 is scheduled to be released on September 3rd in North America (August 26th in Europe) via Century Media Records.
\n
\nThe album was produced yet again by vocalist Mathias Nyg\u00e5rd, and the majority of the album was recorded by Mathias Nyg\u00e5rd and guitarist Jussi Wickstr\u00f6m in a remote house outside of Helsinki that served as the Turisas2013 command center and headquarters. Additional recordings were done in 3 other studios: drums at Atomic Spa Studio (Helsinki), orchestral recordings at 5 by 5 Studio (Helsinki), and most of the vocals and additional acoustic elements at Sound Supreme Studio (H\u00e4meenlinna), where TURISAS also recorded The Varangian Way and Stand Up And Fight.

\nWith Turisas2013, the band deliberately aimed for a more organic sound. Mathias \u201cWarlord\u201d Nyg\u00e5rd further comments: \u201cWhen it comes to the production it\u2019s just the opposite of the polished and massive \u2018Stand Up And Fight\u2019. It\u2019s raw and dry and in your face, but still maintaining that TURISAS-largeness. People attest to us that we are a great live band and we wanted the album to be based more around that than orchestral massiveness. It\u2019s our most varied record to date and even if some of the songs sound very different, I think the common thread is that every single one has a lot of energy to it.\u201d
\nThe mixing and mastering was done by London-based producer Jaime Gomez Arellano, who previously worked with GHOST B.C., PRIMORDIAL, and ULVER, just to name a few.
