\n\u201cRaise Your Fist In The Air,\u201d the new video from The Queen of Metal, DORO PESCH, premiered last week in front of 75,000 metalheads at the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany, and is now available for viewing on YouTube<\/a>. The song comes off DORO\u2019s EP of the same name, which is now available digitally on iTunes<\/a>.<\/p>\n
Most fans know that New York is DORO\u2019s second home. However, the \u201cRaise Your Fist In The Air\u201d video wasn\u2019t filmed in flashy Times Square; it was shot in The Bronx. \u201cFor Manhattan,\u201d DORO explains, \u201cwe would have needed permissions to film for each and every street corner \u2014 in the Bronx, nobody cares.\u201d<\/p>\n
While police didn\u2019t care, the video shoot didn\u2019t go unobserved.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe purposely trudged around the most rundown quarters in our video truck,\u201d DORO elaborates. \u201cThe gangs that hung around there were watching every step of ours suspiciously. We felt anything but safe. I explained to the guys who we were and that \u2018Raise Your Fist\u2019 can be considered quite a critical song that names and shames the constantly growing injustice in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n
When DORO offered gang members and homeless individuals the opportunity to appear in the video, the tense atmosphere was quickly infused with sheer enthusiasm.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat was the best thing we could have done,\u201d DORO reports happily. \u201cThe video came out absolutely great… and the parts with the people from the Bronx are the ones I like most.\u201d<\/p>\n
