\nDen Headz, it looks like DOWN are keeping true to their promise of recording a series of EP’s this year instead of a full-length album. The band has indicated that each EP will feature a different style, and according to lead singer Philip H. Anselmo, the first one will be “a very pure doom metal record.”<\/p>\n
Writing on the band’s Facebook page, the group announced the track listing of the new EP, although no release timetable is available just yet.<\/p>\n

\n “Before I say anything, I will say this. On this \u2014 and in the past \u2014 I write to basically give an outline and let the listener garner for themselves how they want to apply their own rules and regulations to the track. For me, I find one of the biggest realities of life is that no two men, no two cultures, no two belief systems are really the same.<\/p>\n
There\u2019s a lot lyrically where I\u2019m kind of at odds with mankind\u2019s relationship with mankind. . . I guess it\u2019s more simple to say than ever doing it, such is history, but these days instead of ruffling feathers, I much prefer\u2026 put it this way, I\u2019d rather have friends than enemies, any day. It\u2019s easy to make an enemy. It\u2019s easy to be negative. It\u2019s very easy to slip into that, but it\u2019s very tough to come with love.<\/p>\n
All you have to do is open up a newspaper and you can see for yourself, man. Right here in my own city, people are killed every day. Me, as a person, there\u2019s no way I could sleep at night if I\u2019d done any of those things. It makes me wonder: what the f\u2014 are those people thinking? There is this thug worship that has led a lot of promising youngsters down a terrible path, a sometimes irreversible path. You take somebody\u2019s life, as an adult, you\u2019re 16 years old and you\u2019re fucked.
