\nthe protest that’s going to be staged by Westboro Baptist Church at Dio’s upcoming memorial
\non May 30.

\n“Westboro Baptist Church,
\n
\nThe heavy metal community will not tolerate your ignorant words toward one
\nof our own: late great vocalist Ronnie James Dio<\/strong>. Your attack on a man who is now
\nnot of this earth is not very Christian<\/em>.
\n
\nRonnie James Dio was NOT a Satanist.
\n
\nThe legendary “Horns” hand sign that Ronnie became so well known for
\nduring his many years in heavy metal music has nothing to do with supporting
\nSatan or his minions in hell.
\n
\nIf you had half a brain cell in your heads you would know this.
\n
\nFor years, it’s been common knowledge that Ronnie’s Italian grandmother taught him
\nto use the “Horns” gesture as a young boy to help ward off evil spirits!
\n
\nYou can go ahead and picket Ronnie’s memorial service, sure… but
\nlet’s get one thing clear! The family, friends and fans attending
\nthe event – no matter what – are prepared to celebrate this great musical
\nlegend’s life work with or without your drama.
\n
\nI do pray you come to your senses sooner rather than later though…
\nbecause true Dio fans just might be ready to unleash a bit of the
\nole ‘Mob Rules’.
