\nAmerican metal act TOTAL ECLIPSE latest collection of rockers is entitled Spellcaster<\/em> and features former PANDEMIC vocalist Andy Dracons Giardina. The resurrected TOTAL ECLIPSE – after a 4-year hiatus from the scene, is smoking hot on all eight songs featured here, namely “Hell On Earth”, which has Giardina singing: “The unspoken truth rears its head, Now you’re looking at yourself, A doomsday reflection of eternal wrath.” The blazing guitar shred and soaring vocals on Spellcaster<\/em> will indeed cast a spell on its listener. “Storm Warning” showcases Giardina’s powerful singing skills that definitely falls in the range of early Bruce Dickinson and former Yngwie Malmsteen vocalist Jeff Scott Soto, as he belts out the following ominous lyrics: “The voices of their dead are carried, On the wind that blows, And now they’ve returned for your soul.” With influences ranging from Iron Maiden to Ronnie James Dio, the band is clearly a throwback to what made metal so beloved in the first place: cool Medieval imagery and soaring vocal cries<\/em>. This reviewer definitely looks forward to what comes next from TOTAL ECLIPSE as they continue to make a name for themselves in the ‘tough to penetrate’ underground world of heavy metal.
