German guitar god Michael Schenker has left the door open for a reunion of the three remaining members of the classic \u2018Strangers In The Night\u2019 line-up for what would be an incredible last gig for the much-loved band.\u201cI don\u2019t know if Phil\u2019s physically fit,\u201d says Schenker of vocalist Mogg. \u201cBut I\u2019ll certainly think about a last UFO show if the possibility arises.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When he joined UFO at the end of 1973, the then 18-year-old Michael Schenker contributed significantly to the British rock band’s international mega-success and rose from being \u201cthe German Wunderkind” to becoming one of the most renowned guitarists of our time, who continues to influence entire generations of musicians around the world with his legendary guitar playing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During his time with UFO from 1974-1978, known as the “Schenker era”, Michael Schenker released five groundbreaking studio albums such as “Lights Out” (1977) and “Phenomenon” (1974) and the live album “Strangers In The Night” (Live in Chicago 1978), which is still considered groundbreaking today, and is jointly responsible for world hits such as “Doctor Doctor”, “Rock Bottom” and “Only You Can Rock Me”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michael Schenker is not only celebrating the 50th anniversary of his time with UFO with new editions of the best UFO songs of that time period with many guest stars on recordings, but will also be embarking on a major European tour with his backing band in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The “My Years With UFO” tour spans various countries all over Europe and starts on April 9, 2025 in the Netherlands. From April 10, 2025, you can experience the guitar virtuoso, probably the most famous “Flying V” player in the world, live in Germany with the biggest hits and classics of his UFO era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Schenker is clearly in the mood for revisiting his past, having just released an album of classic UFO songs with guest vocalists. He claims that he approached Mogg to contribute to the record, \u201cbut I\u2019m not sure the message got to him. Managers can be funny sometimes.\u201dMogg is currently working with his new outfit, Moggs Motel. But original UFO drummer Andy Parker is also keen to see if there might be a way for what would undoubtedly be a huge gig to happen.\u201cAbsolutely,\u201d he told Rock Candy Mag. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhy wouldn\u2019t I be up for it? It\u2019s down to Phillip, though. I\u2019m really grateful that he survived his health scare a couple of years ago and is back singing. I miss [band members] Pete [Way] and Paul [Raymond] terribly, and I\u2019m really grateful that Phil is still with us. I would have liked to finish on a higher note with UFO, and maybe Phil might change his mind about playing with the band somewhere down the road.\u201dMogg is playing his cards close to his chest about one last gig with UFO, but what\u2019s certain is that fans all over the world would be ecstatic if the singer agreed to perform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
