The 61-year-old musician passed away as a result of a heart attack, with the group offering the below statement today, September 18th, via\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Brujeria\/posts\/1116161296534694\">Facebook<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">\u201cIt is with deep sadness we have to announce that our leader&nbsp;<strong>Juan Brujo<\/strong>&nbsp;has passed away today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Juan<\/strong>&nbsp;suffered a heart attack on early Monday morning, after a day off from the current \u2018Mexorcista\u2019 tour in Saint Clairsville, Ohio. He was rushed to the nearest hospital in Wheeling, West Viriginia by emergency services, but, despite the medical team\u2019s greatest efforts, he died this morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">His family, friends and bandmates are devastated and wish to mourn in private, while they appreciate the fans\u2019 love and support.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">News of\u00a0<strong>Brujo<\/strong>\u2018s passing follows the band\u00a0canceling their touring plans\u00a0earlier this week, citing a severe medical emergency at the time.
