SKID ROW\u00a0has announced a split with singer\u00a0Erik Gronwall.\u00a0Halestorm<\/a>\u2018s\u00a0Lizzy Hale\u00a0will fill in for a handful of their shows later this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The news comes from a post on the band\u2019s social media, which described Gronwall\u2019s departure as \u201camicable.\u201d The impressive singer, who fronted Skid Row since March of 2022 and sang on their latest album\u00a0The Gang\u2019s All Here,\u00a0<\/em>‘chose to step away from the band to focus on his health’, as the vocalist has previously fought a battle against leukemia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hale will sing for Skid Row during their\u00a0U.S. shows in May and June<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gronwall Announces Departure From Skid Row<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Gronwall shared a statement regarding his departure from the group and his health. Read it below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I got the opportunity to join this incredible band 6 months after my treatment against leukemia. And one month after that I was on a world tour with Skid f**** Row. Wow! It was a dream come true. However, it proved challenging touring the world with an impaired immune system, which is a result of my bone marrow transplant. I respect and understand that Skid Row is a touring band but since I can\u2019t prioritize my health being in the band, I have decided that it\u2019s better for me to step aside. I love Skid Row, I have nothing but respect for the guys in the band but I love and respect my health more. I\u2019m getting stronger and healthier every day but after consulting my doctor I need to allow myself more time to recover, which I can\u2019t do as the lead singer of Skid Row. That\u2019s why I have reached the tough decision to move on. I want to thank the guys for this incredible opportunity. And I want to thank all the Skid Row fans who accepted me as the lead singer of this iconic band. Health first!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gronwall was officially named the vocalist of Skid Row in March of 2022\u00a0after the group split with ZP Theart, who\u2019d previously fronted DragonForce.\u00a0Gronwall had competed on\u00a0Swedish Idol\u00a0<\/em>in the past, singing Skid Row\u2019s hit \u201c18 and Life\u201d during his audition in 2009.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
