KITTIE’s<\/strong> first new music in over a decade has dropped. The gold-certified Canadian alternative metal band worked with producer\u00a0Nick Raskulinecz<\/strong>\u00a0(Deftones<\/strong>,\u00a0Korn<\/strong>) for this comeback, which includes the single \u201cEyes Wide Open<\/strong>\u201d and its official music video, as well as a new forthcoming album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The band have additionally announced their signing with\u00a0Sumerian Records<\/strong>, vocalist\/guitarist\u00a0Morgan Lander<\/strong>\u00a0commenting:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSometimes, incredible opportunities present themselves in surprising ways. Just a few years ago we could have never imagined we would be getting ready to release new music as\u00a0Kittie<\/strong>. We\u2019ve been given what feels like a second life and are grateful to\u00a0Ash<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0Sumerian<\/strong>\u00a0family for believing in us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cKittie<\/strong>\u00a0are true female pioneers in heavy music that helped bring it into pop culture. They have been both influential in the studio and on the road, as I\u2019ve had the privilege of working with them on touring years ago when they brought out\u00a0Bring Me The Horizon<\/strong>,\u00a0In This Moment<\/strong>\u00a0and many other present day heavyweights as brand new opening acts. The ladies have now returned with what I believe is their greatest album since their debut that set the world ablaze. \u201cOur first new material in 13 years, \u2018Eyes Wide Open<\/strong>\u2018 is a vision quest for truth. It is a torch lit in the darkness of ignorance to reveal one\u2019s true motives. \u2018Eyes Wide Open<\/strong>\u2018 is a lesson in trust, betrayal, and ultimately the ability to see behind the curtain to reveal all. It was one of the first songs we wrote, coming together again after a long time away from creating, and I think you can really hear the fires reigniting in this track.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
