\nThere\u2019s a strong rumor going around that the old man of MEGADETH was seen back on the sauce again while attending the UFC light heavyweight championship between Lyoto Machida and challenger Mauricio \u201cShogun\u201d Ru at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, back on Saturday, October 24th.
\n
\nCould this be the root of Mustaine\u2019s recent rants versus his very own label Roadrunner Records?
\n
\nEither way, Dave definitely unloaded more than enough to get plenty of other people in the music biz drinking hard themselves:

\n“It seems like Blabbermouth and Roadrunner U.S.A. are the only people who don’t like me or [Megadeth] anymore.”<\/strong>
\n
\nAccording to Nielsen Soundscan, MEGADETH\u2019s new CD entitled ‘Endgame’ has sold around 72,000 copies. During its first week in stores, the disc moved close to 45,000 more units, with sales dropping the following week to a mind staggering 13,000. During week three, the disc scanned a mere 9,000 units, and in week four, only 5,500 copies were carried away from record stores. Damn! Pass the bottle, Dave!!

\nThis incredible stall in sales for such a tremendous musical effort (given a perfect 5 out of 5 stars by The Metal Den by the way) could perhaps sway any one of us in that position to go out and drown ourselves in a flowing sea of Jager bombs, right?

\nDave rants on:

\n“How a record company could be presented with a worldwide critically-acclaimed record, and that they can let it plummet down the charts in just four weeks into the hundreds, is inexplicable. I knew I shouldn’t have done this. Why didn’t I trust myself? I regret a lot of things in my life, but this is the most regrettable.”<\/strong>

\nWhile it\u2019s widely known that the long haired curmudgeon has had serious past issues with drugs and alcohol, Mustaine claims to have turned to God and walked away from a life of hard living.

\nIn concern with the UFC title fight he witnessed on Oct 24th, ole Mustaine let it all hang out on that one too:

\n\u201cThe event that I just sat through GAVE the fight to Machida! I drove four hours through traffic for this? I think the UFC needs to send me back my money\u2026 I would rather watch people fight on CNN for the H1N1 vaccine\u2026\u201d<\/strong>

\nBut the most telling evidence of some serious imbalance going on comes from Mustaine\u2019s last high-fueled \u2018verbal discharge\u2019 near the end of last month, wherein he hints at the possibility of ending MEGADETH once and for all.

\n“…We\u2019ll see where it goes now. I hate talking about this because it\u2019s not fair to the other guys in the band when it suggests no job security (NO S#@!, Dave)…. but I also face physical problems. If my neck or spine say, \u2018You\u2019re done, Dave\u2019, then I\u2019m done. I love my relationship with a lot of the people I\u2019m working with. I know it seems selfish sometimes to say I\u2019m going to stop. But if the body or the hands say that\u2019s it, well, that\u2019s it.”<\/strong>
