In the third part of a Q&A video series for Artists On Record Starring Adika Live!, Carmine Appice<\/a> (Vanilla Fudge) shared how his drumming influenced Led Zeppelin\u2019s John Bonham, specifically on the song \u2018Good Times Bad Times.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fans will recall when last year Carmine claimed that a woman named Carol Kaye<\/strong> was the ghost bassist for Nikki Sixx<\/strong> <\/a>on the early M\u00d6TLEY CR\u00dcE albums, only to later walk that statement back shortly after. TMD has been tipped off that real ghost player for Sixx was actually David Bowie’s bassist Carmine Rojas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI rest my case regarding Nikki Sixx\u2026\u00a0Carol Kaye<\/strong>.\u201d – Carmine Appice<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now Carmine claims his own playing influenced the world’s most legendary rock drummer to ever live how to apply a certain drumming technique (Triplet Bass-Drum Motif) for one of Led Zeppelin’s most famous songs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He recalled Vanilla Fudge’s first American tour in 1968-1969:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Talking about Bonham\u2019s skills during the live shows, the drummer went on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThen, we did some more shows with them. And I got to know Bonzo and his right foot. I loved his right foot. And when I said to him, \u2018Man, I love what you did on \u2018Good Times Bad Times.\u2019 Awesome.\u2019 He said, \u2018I got it from you.\u2019 I said, \u2018I don\u2019t do that.\u2019 He said, \u2018You did do that.\u2019 He pointed it somewhere on one of my albums.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He commented on the late musician\u2019s parts in Zeppelin\u2019s first single:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cInstead of repeating it \u2013 I went like [mimicking his beat] with the bass drum, he just kept it going [mimicking Bonham\u2019s beat], you know. So, he got the concept from what I did and did his own thing to it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Appice was called a “washed up drummer” last year by Nikki Sixx and Appice challenged the fake bassist to a jam off. Appice also claims to have set up Tommy Lee’s drum sound on Theater of Pain album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The real jam off that should have taken place is between Bonzo and Appice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
