M\u00d6TLEY CR\u00dcE<\/strong>‘s replacement guitarist, John 5<\/strong>, recently appeared on \u2018Talkin\u2019 Rock with Meltdown\u2019 and recalled the South America leg of their\u00a0world tour\u00a0with Def Leppard. John recalled how their high spirits fizzled out with Nikki Sixx <\/strong>and Tommy Lee<\/strong>. He explained:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was such an incredible time like, it\u2019s a time in my life that I\u2019ll never forget. But then it all goes bad because one day Tommy was like [coughing], and I didn\u2019t think anything of it. I thought, \u2018He\u2019s got a little cough,\u2019 and then he\u2019s like [more coughing], \u2018Oh, I don\u2019t feel so good,\u2019 and then Nikki was coughing, and I was like, \u2018Oh no, now they\u2019re both coughing.’\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rocker shared that by the end of the tour, everyone had a taste of the \u2018M\u00f6tley flu.\u2019 John continued:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe all hang out together, so we have four SUVs that take us to the show, but we want to hang out with each other, so we\u2019re all squeezed in this one car. So we\u2019re all talking in each other\u2019s faces like this [gets closer to the camera] \u2018So what\u2019s up dude, yeah yeah.\u2019 All of a sudden I get sick, so we\u2019re all sick in it. We called it the M\u00f6tley flu, but it was right near the end of the tour, but we all got it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to sharing behind-the-scenes moments from the tour, the guitarist also gave updates on \u2018Meltdown\u2019 regarding the\u00a0new album. John 5 seems to back pedal for the first time<\/em>, indicating there is potentially trouble in paradise:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I don\u2019t know when it\u2019s going to come out, but everything is a plan. Everything is mapped out and structured, and everything is, \u2018We\u2019re going to do it here and there,\u2019 and blah, blah, blah. So, the songs are recorded, mixed, and mastered. And they\u2019re so good. I can\u2019t wait for them to come out. They\u2019re so good. I\u2019m really excited about them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Crue has been found guilty of using “backing tracks” during concerts last year and in 2023, as confirmed by ousted guitarist Mick Mars<\/strong>, in his newly launched lawsuit against the band for “ripping him off”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Things have continued to get uglier, as the real dirt begins to leak about the inner drama within the founding membership of the Crue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John added that he has done his part, but there is no firm timeline for the release. Is the recreation of Vince Neil’s vocals with AI technology<\/a> the hold up? He expressed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWho knows what\u2019s going to happen? I don\u2019t know if we\u2019ll just release singles or an album.”\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John 5, in the meantime, has just announced his solo band will be heading back out on the road at the start of 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
