{"id":102512,"date":"2023-06-25T11:22:35","date_gmt":"2023-06-25T16:22:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/themetalden.com\/?p=102512"},"modified":"2023-09-02T18:46:04","modified_gmt":"2023-09-02T23:46:04","slug":"industry-source-mick-mars-once-mailed-nikki-sixx-a-bag-of-his-own-feces","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/themetalden.com\/?p=102512","title":{"rendered":"The Dirt: Mick Mars Once Mailed Nikki Sixx A Bag Of His Own Feces (UPDATED)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">TMD reports:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">As the MOTLEY CRUE scandal continues to dominate the news headlines day after day, TMD has learned that ousted Crue guitarist Mick Mars has been fighting against the band&#8217;s leader Nikki Sixx for many years now, due to the fact that Sixx would not&nbsp;allow Mars to play guitar on any of the Crue&#8217;s past few studio albums, believe it or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">The animosity between Mars and Sixx got so bad at one point during the production of the Crue&#8217;s &#8220;New Tattoo&#8221; album in 2000 that the legendary guitarist had his assistant collect a large stool from the toilet at his home residence and mailed it to Nikki Sixx.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Mick Mars<\/strong>&nbsp;told&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/motley-crue-mick-mars-1234768041\/\" target=\"_blank\">Rolling Stone<\/a>&nbsp;that he had little involvement in&nbsp;<strong>M\u00d6TLEY CR\u00dcE<\/strong>\u2018s last three records:&nbsp;<em><strong>Generation Swine<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;(1997),&nbsp;<em><strong>New Tattoo<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;(2000) and&nbsp;<em><strong>Saints of Los Angeles<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;(2008).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">He said the band began to exclude him from the creative process more than 20 years ago when they brought back their original vocalist&nbsp;<strong>Vince Neil<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/themetalden.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Nikki-Sixx-and-Mick-Mars.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\"  data-gnlv=\"hey\" src=\"https:\/\/themetalden.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Nikki-Sixx-and-Mick-Mars.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-102515\" srcset=\"https:\/\/themetalden.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Nikki-Sixx-and-Mick-Mars.jpg 600w, https:\/\/themetalden.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Nikki-Sixx-and-Mick-Mars-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">\u201cI don\u2019t think there\u2019s one note that I played,\u201d&nbsp;<strong>Mars<\/strong>&nbsp;said, referring to&nbsp;<em><strong>Generation Swine<\/strong><\/em>. \u201cThey didn\u2019t want my guitar to sound like a guitar, basically. They wanted it to sound like a synthesizer. I felt so useless. I\u2019d do a part, they\u2019d erase it, and somebody else would come in and play.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">An industry source who actually is a sought after audio engineer was brought in to help with mastering the New Tattoo album (uncredited) has tipped TMD off as to the moment when Sixx actually opened the bag of Mick&#8217;s feces in the studio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">&#8220;It was the funniest thing I have ever seen in my entire life, besides the time I was working at Guitar Center (in Sherman Oaks) and Nikki walked into the store fully dressed in his stage outfit and face paint makeup, like he was Bozo The Clown!&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">The source goes on to say that &#8220;The whole time I was mastering that album all that Nikki did was talk on the phone. He never once asked me a question about anything. All he did was stay on the phone.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">&#8220;Nikki walked into the studio one day and sat down next to me with this unopened package he got from Mick. He thought it was a gift of some kind, a friendly gesture, but when he opened it, all hell broke loose because it was a big piece of shit that Mick dumped at home and had mailed Nikki to piss him off!&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Former&nbsp;<strong>M\u00d6TLEY CR\u00dcE<\/strong>&nbsp;singer&nbsp;<strong>John Corabi<\/strong>, who was present for the beginning of&nbsp;<em><strong>Generation Swine<\/strong><\/em>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/metaladdicts.com\/john-corabi-says-he-believes-mick-mars-was-kicked-out-of-motley-crue\/\">previously said<\/a>&nbsp;that that majority of guitar parts on the record are his. He said: \u201cWhen we were doing the&nbsp;<strong><em>Generation Swine<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;record, they were complaining about his guitar playing&nbsp;then. And if you really look at all of the records they\u2019ve done since then\u2026 The majority of the guitars on the&nbsp;<strong><em>Swine<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;record, which is one of the reasons why I sued the guys, are mine. They were complaining about&nbsp;<strong>Mick<\/strong>&nbsp;the whole f*cking time. And I don\u2019t know if he played on&nbsp;<strong><em>New Tattoo<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 I\u2019m not sure \u2014 but I know on&nbsp;<strong><em>Red, White &amp; Cr\u00fce<\/em><\/strong>, it was&nbsp;<strong>D.J. Ashba<\/strong>; on&nbsp;<strong><em>Saints Of Los Angeles<\/em><\/strong>, it was&nbsp;<strong>D.J. Ashba<\/strong>; and on&nbsp;<strong><em>The Dirt<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;[soundtrack], it was&nbsp;<strong>John 5<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Mars<\/strong>\u00a0is suing\u00a0<strong>CR\u00dcE<\/strong>\u00a0alleging that\u00a0the band\u00a0reduced his share of earnings from 25 percent to a mere 5 percent after revealing his decision to withdraw (or as John Corabi claims, was secretly forced out) from touring.
