Just when you thought this story could not get any more entertaining, a new interview with Carmine Appice <\/strong>has hit the web and really is embarrassing for Nikki Sixx<\/strong>, who it seems is backing down from the challenge Appice issued to him earlier, instead opting to make another legal maneuver. It all stems from a ‘tense exchange’ with Sixx<\/strong>, who responded to the fake bassist accusations via a tweet stating, \u201cA washed up drummer speaking for our band without any of the facts is as ridiculous as bottom feeder media running with stories without fact checking. When you hear the truth it will be from us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About a month ago, legendary rock drummer Carmine Appice<\/strong> made the news when he disclosed information shared with him by his friend and guitarist Mick Mars<\/strong> regarding alleged events that took place during last summer\u2019s The Stadium Tour<\/strong>, which featured M\u00d6TLEY CR\u00dcE<\/strong>, DEF LEPPARD<\/strong>, POISON<\/strong>, JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS<\/strong>, and CLASSLESS ACT<\/strong>. Among the claims was that Nikki Sixx<\/strong>\u2018s bass parts were pre-recorded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next Appice challenged Sixx to a “jam off”. The fake bassist, according to many in the industry, including Mick Mars<\/strong>, does not play one single note live and is relying on prerecorded tracks at all of the glam metal band’s comeback concerts. Sixx began taking punches from all angles so to speak when the ousted 71-year-old ex-Crue guitarist next filed a lawsuit for real against his former band, alleging widespread use of backing tracks during live performances<\/em> and accusing bassist Nikki Sixx<\/strong> of manipulating him into thinking he had lost “cognitive abilities and guitar skills.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the lawsuit<\/a>, Mick<\/strong> alleges that M\u00d6TLEY CR\u00dcE<\/strong> reduced his share of earnings from 25 percent to a mere 5 percent after revealing his decision to withdraw from touring. Additionally, he states that the group\u2019s attorneys made him feel as if he should appreciate this minimal portion, as they believed they had no obligation to provide him with anything. Mick<\/strong> also asserts that a complete band gathering took place where they chose to \u201cunilaterally\u201d exclude him from M\u00d6TLEY CR\u00dcE<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mick<\/strong> consistently alleged that bassist Nikki Sixx<\/strong> was \u201cgaslighting\u201d him by suggesting his guitar abilities were declining, even though Sixx<\/strong> didn\u2019t \u201cplay a single note on bass\u201d throughout the tour, as stated by the guitarist. Mick<\/strong> asserts that all of Nikki<\/strong>\u2018s segments were pre-recorded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a new interview with Goldmine<\/strong><\/a>, Appice<\/strong> was asked is he was surprised about the reaction to his comments about Mars<\/strong> and M\u00d6TLEY CR\u00dcE<\/strong>. He responded: \u201cOh, it\u2019s been unbelievable. Did you see what came out since then between Mick<\/strong> and the rest of the band? I\u2019m sure you did. It\u2019s all so sad, but it vindicates my story, which I never thought would start an entire viral internet thing. The response that came out of it was amazing, and his [Nikki Sixx<\/strong>] response of calling me a \u201cwashed-up drummer\u201d was pretty wild and pretty hurtful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut I got a great response from people through their comments, and a lot of people are behind me, so it\u2019s all good,\u201d he continued. \u201cThat said, I did get a cease-and-desist letter from all these lawyers who work for M\u00d6TLEY CR\u00dcE<\/strong>, so I can\u2019t go into too much detail. I have to be careful with what I say, but then again, we\u2019re not really talking about details; we\u2019re just talking about what happened. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With Sixx purportedly ducking Appice’s proposed “jam off” it only makes him look that much more guilty. Instead, he sends his legal attack dogs after a true rock n roll legend. Appice was only looking out for his old friend Mick. who feels that he has been “ripped off” by the Crue and was the one who “carried” the band all these years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
