TMD

Chicago thrashers DIAMOND PLATE have confirmed the addition of Matt Ares to the band as their new vocalist and bassist, following the departure of former front man Jon Macak.

The band has started working on the follow-up to the 2011 debut album, “Generation Why?” with the new album due to be released in 2013. The band comments:

“Over the past few months we have been writing and demoing songs for the next album. During that time, we felt that the chemistry between Jon and the rest of the band wasn’t as strong as it needed to be. We decided to move on, and find someone that shared the same passion to create the music that we’ve always wanted to make. We wish Jon all the best, and we want to thank him for being a part of this band.

TESTAMENT – 2013 U.S. Headliner Tour Dates With OVERKILL

TMD
TMD

TESTAMENT will headline a U.S. tour in early-2013 with support from Overkill, Flotsam and Jetsam, and 4Arm.

“It’s a thrill to announce our upcoming dates with Overkill and Flotsam and Jetsam,” says guitarist Alex Skolnick. “It’s a tour that brings together three different metal bands from three different regions: West Coast, East Coast and Southwest. All three bands sound very different from one another yet are highly compatible. All have been around the block (and the world) a few times and all have managed to keep a sound that feels current. This tour will be a ‘must see’ for fans who remember the early days of thrash/speed metal as well as those whose age is younger than the genre itself.”

1/31 Anaheim, CA @ House of Blues...

TMD

Scottish death metal act CEREBRAL BORE has announced the sudden departure of Dutch vocalist Simone “Som” Pluijmers, who left the band right before they were to kick off their U.S. tour with Dying Fetus and Cattle Decapitation. The band has issued the following statement:

“Som walked out on us less than 24 hours before the US tour, and we were forced to either cancel or go ahead with it as an instrumental if need be. We didn’t want to let our US fans down, so we went ahead with our buddy Shawn Whitaker on vocals for the tour. Show us your support and make Shawn feel at home, he saved us from a disaster.”
