KRIEG will perform at The Acheron in Brooklyn this weekend as the band and its leader, Neill Jameson, continues to push their latest album, Transient. Pitchfork asserts, “Transient is a claustrophobic listen that provides the illusion of walls closing in and ceilings coming down, even as its sound opens wider.” Stereogum notes, “Transient is one of the finest USBM offerings of 2014, and a breakthrough for Krieg.” Released early September, Transient ended a four-year hiatus for the band. Decibel Magazine premiered the first official video by the band on the album’s release date for the song “Ruin Our Lives;” a visual hell-fest of fast-tracked cinematic images. Static Sessions, a collaborative music video project by the team of Nic Justice and CJ Blair, today has posted “Return Fire” (http://bit.ly/1EJEx5A) to their Facebook stream; the sessions recorded in Philadelphia last autumn at Drowning Fish Studios.

Upcoming Krieg performances are:
5/03 – The Acheron, Brooklyn NY
6/19 – Side Bar, Baltimore MD
8/16 – Death To False Metal Festival, Hamden CT
8/16 – Boot & Saddle, Philadlephia PA

“Krieg are one of the most impressive and exciting black metal bands out there – long may they continue to experiment and shift their sound, particularly if this is an indication of things to come.” – Cvlt Nation

“Neill Jameson ranks among the great defenders of and disciples for United States Black Metal. He’s been making and refining his own antagonistic strain since the mid-1990s, leading Krieg through some of the most important, compelling and twisted stateside versions of the form. “ – Pitchfork

“Increasing age is a double-edged sword for all of us, and it’s a particularly unpredictable blade for musicians. Some bands are content to tread water, some try to force-feed a fire that died out long ago. Transient is about the furthest thing you could imagine from that.” – No Clean Singing
