Legendary American thrash band MEGADETH have still not officially announced who will be playing guitar and drums on their new studio album. There’s been a lot of speculation as to who it will be. The fact that this year marks the 25 year anniversay of the classic album “Rust In Peace”, most feel it will be Nick Menza and Marty Friedman that will be rejoining the lineup once again.
Both former members have said they are “Open” to a return but would not add anything further. Today mainman Dave Mustaine issued this tweet: “Next week will see an official press statement from Megadeth regarding the new recording.”
Yesterday Mustaine got a lot of fans excited when he posted this tweet: “Take a listen to “Holy Wars…The Punishment Due” and tell me what you think.”
No doubt a return of Menza & Friedman sure would be the move that fans want, but with Mustaine in charge there is no telling who will be named into the band. Let’s hope he is as smart of a businessman as he comes off, because this reunion would go down as one of the biggest in metal music history!
