ANTHRAX’s Charlie Benante had a chat recently with Revolver regarding the progress of their new album sessions. According to Benante, the band have thus far recorded the instrumentals for six songs with another fifteen tracks still in their pocket. The group have decided to record the album across separate sessions with producer Jay Ruston, giving each member time to digest the tracks should they want to revisit their parts. Due to the wealth of material, the band have been toying with the idea of recording both an album and an EP, but that is not yet set in stone. Benante stated of the direction of the new material:
“We’re continuing on the same path we were on with that album [“Worship Music“.] Some of the songs are even more aggressive. Three or four are pretty thrashy, including one of the fastest songs we’ve recorded in years. When we did it, the mood was there and we were like, ‘Fuck this is awesome. Let’s go with it.”
Tentative track titles include:
“The Battle Chose Us”
“You Gotta Believe”
“The Evil Twin“
