DARK TRANQUILLITY are celebrating the 20 year anniversary of their debut album “Skydancer” with a newly-remastered edition. The group said of the outing:

“This truly makes us feel old! “Skydancer” is a weird and quirky album that stood out like a sore thumb in the early ’90′s metal climate. The new material will be tracked at Gear Recording and mixed by Greg Reely, who also mixed “The Electric Age.”

EVILE lead guitarist Ol Drake has announced his departure from the English thrash band. Drake has put forth the following official statement:

“It’s been half my life (15 years) since I started jamming in a room with three other guys, in a group in which I didn’t know would grow to be Evile, go through what Evile has gone through and achieve what Evile has so far achieved,” says the man himself in a statement. “Since 1999, I’ve put 100% of my time and life into the band we formed, while us all had/have to sacrifice a lot financially and personally along the way. French death metal act GOROD has issued the following update on the departure of the band’s drummer.

“Hello to you all. These few words to let you know that our drummer Samuel Santiago is no longer in GOROD.
The reasons for this split up only concern Samuel and GOROD, no others statements will be made about this.
The few gigs booked for the end of the year are confirmed and will be done with a temporary drummer, these gigs will be the the last concerning “A Perfect Absolution”. SOULFLY – Release Fifth “Savages” Webisode

A fifth video update at SOULFLY’s ninth studio album “Savages” has been made available. The band recorded the outing with producer Terry Date (Pantera, Deftones).
