FEAR FACTORY – “Industrialist” Release Date Announced

Candlelight Records has confirmed June 5th as the North American release date for FEAR FACTORY’s new album, The Industrialist. Produced by the band with Rhys Fulber (Front Line Assembly), the album was mixed by Greg Reely (Paradise Lost/Skinny Puppy/Machine Head). It features additional tracking by Logan Mader (Gojira/Divine Heresy/Five Finger Death Punch) and artwork by Anthony Clarkson (Devin Townsend).

British grindcore act NAPALM DEATH has premiered their new music video online for the song, “Analysis Paralysis.” You can check it out HERE. MESHUGGAH – Listen To Track Previews For “Koloss”

Online ordering website Amazon UK have posted 30-second previews of each song from Swedish prog-metallers Meshuggah’s upcoming album, “Koloss”. The snippets can be heard at this location.

The album is also available through the NuclearBlastUSA store.

Meshuggah are set to release “Koloss”, the follow-up to their 2008 album “obZen”, on March 23rd in Germany, March 26th for the rest of Europe and March 27th in North America.

THE HAUNTED – Vocalist Quits Band!

Vocalist Peter Dolving has announced via his Facebook page that he has left Swedish metal act THE HAUNTED. He writes, “I am officially quitting THE HAUNTED. After years of working with the band, I am out. I have had it. I will NOT answer questions to why. It’s no one else’s business. Thank you very much. I am looking forward to seeing you people at other shows with other projects.”

Previously a vocalist for MARY BEATS JANE, Dolving joined THE HAUNTED in 1997 and sang in their debut self-titled album. In 1998, he left the group to concentrate on a band called ZEN-MONKEY but returned in 2003 following the departure of Marco Aro (the vocalist which took over Dolving’s spot after Peter’s 1998 exit)...

BORKNAGAR – Announce New Drummer

In the wake of the release of their upcoming album, Urd, on March 26th in Europe and in North America, Norwegian avant-garde metallers BORKNAGAR have announced a new drummer for the band’s line-up. The exceptionally talented youngster Baard Kolstad is now joining Borknagar as their drummer, and he will perform his first show together with the band at this year’s Inferno Festival during April 4th-7th in Oslo, Norway. BLACK SABBATH – Sharon Osbourne Says The Band Has Written 15 New Songs, Door Is Open To Bill Ward

Sharon Osbourne recently spoke to VH1 Radio Network about the sorry fact that BLACK SABBATH will play just one single date in the U.S. with Tony Iommi, who is seeking treatment for lymphoma in the UK and will not be touring extensively. Ozzy and friends will now be in the spot of Sabbath on a slew of dates.

“They’re gonna be doing one show in America this summer but I can’t say yet because we can’t announce it, the promoters have to, but they are doing one show in August here together,” said Osbourne.




As for the controversy with drummer Bill Ward who has–so far–declined to participate in at least some of the recording sessions as well as the live dates, Sharon sounded conciliatory. “It’s up to Bill. The door is open for him to join us, so it’s up to him.”

MOTÖRHEAD – Cancel Gigantour Performance, Lemmy Has Lost His Voice

The years of constant heavy metal touring can be hard on a man. MOTÖRHEAD will not perform at tonight’s (Tuesday, February 28) Gigantour show at the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver, Colorado. The band’s founder, bassist and principal songwriter Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister has lost his voice and has decided to give it the night off. Things should be good to goK for the last three shows of the tour. The other bands on the Gigantour bill — MEGADETH, LACUNA COIL and VOLBEAT — will go ahead and perform this evening as scheduled.
