How do you continue to celebrate the life of one of heavy metal’s true legends? You call on those who had the most admiration and respect to gather in one place and do what they do best to pay homage – which includes fellow musicians and fans alike. “The thing I remember the most about Darrell was the way he loved to jump up on stage with anyone at the drop of a hat”, states Rita Haney, longtime girlfriend of Dime and the person who knew him best. “When this tragedy originally happened, I saw the music community unite like I’ve never seen before...Read More
Ottawa, Ontario’s BURIED INSIDE, who announced earlier this year that they’ll be taking an indefinite hiatus after 13 years as a band, has announced one last final performance. This last show will be November 13th at Babylon (317 Bank St.) in Ottawa, ON and include guests KINGDOM SHORE, BARRIER, CRUSADES, and more.
BURIED INSIDE has released three full-length albums including 2009’s Spoils Of Failure. The long-awaited follow-up to their Relapse debut Chronoclast is currently streaming via the band’s MySpace page: MySpace.com/BuriedInside
Polish metal act ILLUMINANDI has issued the following announcement about losing their vocalist:
“Unpleasant surprise: Paul ‘Troy’ is no longer the Illuminandi singer. As he told us, this is his final and thoughtful decision. We would like to say that we understand it, but unfortunately we do not. Paul completely surprised us with information about his resignation.
“We’re sorry that so suddenly we lose such a good growler, but we do not give up and will play on. We already have a strong candidate for the deputy to Paul, but I have not decided yet at 100%. If you want to try with us please contact the team or manager.”
Norwegian metal band COMMUNIC are currently preparing the final writing details for their follow-up to 2008’s “PAYMENT OF EXISTENCE”. The band is planning to start the recording process early 2011. The band is hoping for a June 2011 release.
Comments Oddleif: “I am really excited about this new material that we have put together for this new album. There is still some work left, but we are getting closer. I think the heaviness of these songs will surprise many of you, and the overall feeling of it, is way darker this time. The songs are shorter, more in your face and may seem straight forward at first, but there are many twists and turns that will just creep under your skin. This album is DEEP!
I know that many of you have been waiting for this album for a long time already, but ever...Read More
TMD has obtained several never before seen live photos of the original VAN HALEN lineup performing on stage circa Fall/1977 at the legendary Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, California.
Before they were selling out arenas, David, Eddie, Alex and Michael were killing it in the Hollywood club scene… namely at hot spots like Gazzarri’s, The Starwood and perhaps the most famous of them all (and still standing to this very day) Whisky A Go Go venue, located at 8901 Sunset Boulevard on the Sunset Strip.
The Whisky first opened its doors January 16, 1964.
To date, the mighty VAN HALEN has sold over 80 million albums worldwide. Over the years, several vocalists followed “Diamond Dave”, including Sammy Hagar and Gary Cherone.
However, die hard fans have always believed that Roth ...Read More
Gore metal act EXHUMED are presently holed up in an Arizona studio tracking their forthcoming studio effort entitled “All Guts, No Glory” with engineer Ryan Butler (Misery Index). Mixing and mastering for the album will be handled by Brian Elliot (Graves Of Valor) at Mana Recording Studios.
Guitarist/vocalist Matt Harvey comments:
“So far we’re really psyched on what’s been oozing out of the speakers! The guitars are sounding really aggressive right out of the box. I can’t wait to get into the vocals and flesh out the songs. We have 18 songs to work through while we’re here and then we’ll sort through and cherry-pick the heaviest, ugliest tracks for the new record, which is gonna be titled “All Guts, No Glory“...Read More
