AMORPHIS – To Release Vinyl Single In December

AMORPHIS have announced a December 18th release date for their “Brother And Sister” vinyl single. That outing will feature the title track and “As Mountains Crumble“, both of which are b-sides from the sessions for their latest album “Queen Of Time.” Those songs previously appeared on the digipak edition of the album.

Amorphis keyboardist Santeri Kallio said of the upcoming effort:

“Two great songs from ‘Queen Of Time‘ sessions in vinyl which is great. Atmospherical ‘Brother and Sister‘ and majestic prog-driven ‘As Mountains Crumble‘ were also good candidates for the ‘Queen of Time‘ album final track list, but in the final run ended up as an album bonus tracks to give a special edge for different releases...

UNEARTH – Launch New Beer To Benefit ACLU

Boston metal giants UNEARTH and musically influenced PA brewery Broken Goblet have teamed up on a collaborative beer in support of identifying and ending racial inequalities in our country, with all proceeds being split between the Philadelphia and Boston chapters of the ACLU.

“Black Hearts Now Reign” is a Russian imperial stout brewed with white chocolate, an on-the-nose ingredient choice selected by the brewery for the combination of bitter and sweet that it adds to the beer, and the obvious analogy to the “work together” theme of the brew. The 11% beer will present as a mostly standard version of the style – rich and full bodied with roasted coffee, mild chocolate, toasted caramel and subtle dark fruit, with the added texture and mild sweetness of the white chocolate.

DUNE SEA – Debut New Song

Norwegian psych/stoner rockers DUNE SEA have just revealed a new song from their forthcoming second album “Moons of Uranus”, due out on November 13 on All Good Clean Records

Titled “Air” this new song is now playing at Doomed and Stoned, who commented “Are they stoner punk? Heavy psych? Prog? A synthoid freak of nature? Dune Sea are currently beyond classification. A new sound for a new age, perhaps? The Space Age. Astronomers and psychonauts alike are feverishly examining every nook, hook, and cranny of these strange, otherworldly transmissions from the ether. Turns out, they are very human in origin. “

Listen to “Air” here.

Harder and  dirtier than their previous effort, “Moods of Uranus” sees  the Norwegian psych/space rockers Dune Sea playing ten riff-based and syn...

DARK TRANQUILLITY – Premiere New Single

DARK TRANQUILLITY have shared a new track from their forthcoming album, Moment (due out November 20). The song “Identical to None” can be streamed above.

“This one is a celebration of diversity and a condemnation of nearsighted division,” says the band.

“Toward the end of the ’90s, Scandinavian death metal — or at least one branch of it — began to evolve into a more accessible amalgamation of death metal intensity, a bit of progressive metal experimentation, and more traditional late-’70s/early-’80s British metal, with its catchy, groove-oriented riffs and twin-guitar lead lines...

VYRION – Debut New Song

Brisbane-based black-metal troop VYRION have just revealed a new track off their forthcoming third album “Nil”, which is set for release on October 26.

Titled “Monuments”, this new track is now playing at No Clean Singing, who stated “The song is a journeying experience rather than a straight-forward monochrome of sound, but it’s fair to say that through all its turns it’s deeply unsettling, consistent with the narrative described above, and its mood-changing power is impressive.”

Check out “Monuments” here.

A concept album telling the stories of civilizations, from the cradle to their eradication by disease, the follow-up to 2014’s “Geo” LP takes all prisoners on a vivid journey, basking in the glory of our war-mongering past and looking eagerly towards our decrep...
