California’s THANATOPSIS are releasing the new single “Consequence”, off the upcoming debut album “Initiation” due out October 23, 2020 via Extreme Metal Music.

OZZY – Begins Work On New Album

Ozzy Osbourne has begun work on his thirteenth studio album with “Ordinary Man” producer/songwriter Andrew Watt once again in place. Discussing the matter recently with, he offered:

“I’m doing another record right now. I just started to work with Andrew again.”

“It’s what gets me up in the morning, and it’s what I’m here to do. It saved my life, doing that last album. [It’s better than] sitting on my ass all day waiting for the fucking pandemic to be over. And then you go, ‘Oh, yeah, I am a rock and roller. I’d better do an album.’ You’ve got all the fucking time in the world to make the best album possible.”

KATAKLYSM – Debut New Music Video

To celebrate today’s release of their new album, Unconquered, KATAKLYSM have dropped a music video for the track “Cut Me Down,” featuring Tuomas Saukkonen (Wolfheart). The new clip can be viewed above.

Vocalist Maurizio Iacono comments: “‘Cut Me Down’ is a melodic, high octane assault, with thrash elements and relentless power, showcasing another angle of our new album, Unconquered, which is released today! WHITEHCAPEL – Set To Record New Album

WHITECHAPEL have finished writing a new album and plan to enter the studio this week to start production.

Speaking with (video seen above), Whitechapel guitarist Alex Wade explained that while the pandemic derailed the band’s original plans, it afforded them time to work on new material:

“I definitely feel like we got kind of cut short as far as the album cycle for ‘The Valley’ goes. But we’re trying to make the best of it that we can. We had a lot of killer tours and everything lined up this year. But it is what it is, and we just kind of have to roll with the punches.

STATIC-X have unleashed a music video for their track “Dead Souls“. In addition to featuring vocals from the band’s late frontman/guitarist Wayne Static, the song features a guest turn from Ministry‘s Al Jourgensen. The below video for it was directed by Wombat Fire (HELLYEAH, In Flames) and is featured on the band’s latest release, “Project Regeneration, Vol. 1“.

Lee Kerslake – Dead At 73

Legendary drummer Lee Kerslake has reportedly passed away at the age of 73 following “a lengthy battle with prostate cancer.” Beyond his work with Uriah Heep, Kerslake was a member of Ozzy Osbourne‘s first solo band alongside Randy Rhoads and Bob Daisley.

Kerslake would go on to play with Ozzy on his 5x multi-platinum solo debut “Blizzard Of Ozz” as well as its 3x multi-platinum 1981 follow-up “Diary Of A Madman.”

While Kerslake and Daisley would go on to have a legal dispute with the Osbourne camp in the years that followed; in 2018 upon revealing that he had been diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer, he said his dying wish was to be honored with the platinum plaques for his work on the aforementioned two records.
