DEEDS OF FLESH – Guitarist Passes Away

Sad news to report. DEEDS OF FLESH guitarist Erik Lindmark passed away yesterday. A crowdfunding campaign has been launched to raise funds for Linkmark’s wife and young daughter.

Erik’s own label that he founded, Unique Leader, has issued the following:

“It is with great sadness that we must announce that our CEO and founder, Erik Lindmark, passed away today after battling with Sclerosis.

“The indelible mark he has left on the Death Metal genre is monumental, both as a business man and as a musician. After building this label from scratch with his Deeds bandmates, Erik took Unique Leader to a level he had never expected it, or the genre, to get to.

“During his time in Hospital, Erik was absolutely implicit with his instructions to staff to go full steam ahead with the...

CHILDREN OF BODOM – “Hexed” Album Details

Are You Ready To Get Cursed?

Finland’s melodic death superstars CHILDREN OF BODOM are proud to the announce the release of their tenth album, Hexed, on March 8, 2019 via Nuclear Blast Records.

COB frontman, guitarist, and mastermind Alexi Laiho comments, “People have said that the album is generally catchier. So I started thinking about that, perhaps the song structures are easier to grasp on initial listen. But there’s some crazy shit in there, almost progressive or at least technical. There are certain melodies across the album that could have come from jazz songs, although they’re completely metal with us, of course (laughs).”

“For me, it has always been very hard to describe our new music,” comments bassist Henkka Blacksmith...

OVERKILL – New Album Announced

New Music Has Been Confirmed!

Legendary New Jersey thrashers, OVERKILL, will unleash their 19th studio album, The Wings Of War, on February 22nd via Nuclear Blast.

Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth comments: “It was a blast making The Wings Of War! It is something old feeling new again, as our chemistry was altered by the addition of Jason Bittner. I was curious from the get-go, how would it pan out? I think what we accomplished here is a new, upgraded Overkill that embraced the new chemistry, while taking our roots into the present. The new formula produced not only more raw power, but more places to go with melody, a win, win. The key is being not only interested in the change, but part of it. I’ll tell you what, it’s still fun as hell making Overkill records.”

The Wings Of War was recor...

ROTTING CHRIST – Premiere New Song

A slamming new single from ROTTING CHRIST’s forthcoming album “The Heretics” has landed online with “Fire, God And Fear” now available to stream.

Warning: Those music fans who are sensitive to Satanic content, you must understand that this band is not Christian metal.

ROTTING CHRIST was formed in 1987 with the original line-up Sakis (vocals, guitar), Jim (bass), Themis (drums) incorporating a roaring mixture of death metal and grind (a style that was at its height in the rest of the world at that time except, of course, Greece). Early on ROTTING CHRIST produced two informal recordings (“Decline’s Return” and ‘Leprosy Of Death”) which basically consist of rehearsals and are not considered official by the band.

The band’s frontman Sakis Tolis had the fo...

This past spring influential extreme metal act CARCASS revealed that they had written nearly an hour of material and expected to enter the studio later this year. Now the group shared a photo from the recording studio (see HERE).
