SEPTICFLESH – Completes Recording New Album


Recording sessions for Septicflesh‘s as-yet untitled new album have wrapped up with the group currently looking at a tentative summer release. Ten songs were tracked for the effort, including a collaboration with the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir. Logan Mader (Gojira, Fear Factory) mixed and mastered the outing, with the band stating:

“We are really exhausted from the work on this record, but also very proud of the results. We worked hard with Logan to bring you the ultimate death metal soundtrack for your darkest dreams. THROWDOWN – ‘Intolerance’ First-Week Sales Revealed


“Intolerance”, the new album from the Southern California metal act THROWDOWN, sold around 2,600 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 142 on The Billboard 200 chart. Released on January 21 via eOne Music, the follow-up to 2009’s “Deathless” was recorded at Hurley Recordings in Costa Mesa, California with rising producer Davey Warsop and mixed at Planet Z.

“Intolerance” features guitar solo contributions from Dave Nassie (BLEEDING THROUGH, NO — USE FOR A NAME, INFECTIOUS GROOVES), who joined THROWDOWN’s recent touring lineup alongside DEMON HUNTER drummer Tim “Yogi” Watts and “Deathless”-era bassist Mark Mitchell.

MÖTLEY CRÜE today officially announced they are retiring as a band. They will first play a final tour of 70 shows around the world, with tickets going on sale Friday, starting at $15. Alice Cooper has been named as their opening act. And to show they are not kidding around — the boys even signed a legal contract stating that they’re indeed retiring and this is the final Crue tour.

BRAIN DEAD – Streaming “Final Truth” Video Online


Italian old-school thrashers BRAIN DEAD have released a new video, for the track “Final Truth”, featured on their new studio album, Menace From The Sickness, available via Punishment 18 Records. Watch HERE.

The CD was recorded at Carlo Girardi’s One Black Sock studio and includes a guest appearance from drummer Andy Verga of Italian speed metallers BROKENGLAZZ, on a cover of that band’s track ‘Total Despair’. The cover artwork was created by Marco Hasmann (BEYOND CREATION, FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE), who worked on the previous Brain Dead full-length.
