THE SWORD – Premiere New Music Video


In conjunction with their forthcoming tour supporting Clutch (starting this Wednesday May 1st in Richmond, VA), The Sword today release their new video, “Cloak Of Feathers.” The video, directed by Rich Ragsdale, is the second clip from The Sword’s fourth album, Apocryphon (Razor & Tie). New Jersey thrash legends OVERKILL have announced a co-headlining tour with their Germany’s KREATOR. Opening the tour will be California’s WARBRINGER.

Vocalist Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth comments: “Overkill and Kreator is powerhouse combination, a serious one. Two thrash punch. This is what it’s all about! Hang on, LET’S DO THIS!”

Tickets will be exclusively available through today, April 30th, with general tickets going on sale May 14th. Dates will span the US coast to coast with select dates in Canada. The tour will end with two nights at Stage 48 in New York City.

Legendary NWOBHM band SAXON deliver their 20th studio album entitled Sacrifice in 2013. This reviewer can fondly recall witnessing this group perform live for the first time nearly thirty years ago when they toured America with IRON MAIDEN and FASTWAY on 1983’s epic The World Piece tour. At the time being only twelve years old, Biff and co.’s The Power and The Glory simply blew my little mind with its tough as nails, balls to the walls approach.

All these years later, this metal music machine has not slowed up one bit. Sacrifice is produced by vocalist Biff Byford and Andy Sneap and the production is overall superb. ETHS – Part Ways With Guitarist


French metallers ETHS have announced the departure of guitarist Grégory “Greg” Rouvière. Greg has been part of the group from the very beginning (1999) and has participated in all three full length albums that the band has released. He will not be replaced, which means that ETHS will now work as a four-piece band.

Short statement from the band: “We wish Greg all the best in his future endeavors. We will never forget the great times we had together and hope for that hiatus to be short-lived. Greg will not be replaced and ETHS is now a four-piece band.”

HUNTRESS – New Album Artwork And Release Date Revealed


California traditional metal act HUNTRESS announced that the follow up to the band’s debut LP “Spell Eater” will be entitled “Starbound Beast.” The album is set for release on June 28, 2013 (EU) and July 2, 2013 (North America) via Napalm Records.

In addition, the band teamed up with Revolver Magazine to feature the album’s artwork, which can be seen above. The piece was created once again by Vance Kelly (Slayer, Ghost B.C., Mastodon).

“Starbound Beast” was recorded at Hobby Shop Studios in Los Angeles, CA with famed producer Zeuss (Shadows Fall, Hatebreed, Agnostic Front).
