New Jersey based pirate thrashers SWASHBUCKLE will replace SUCCESS WILL WRITE APOCALYPSE ACROSS THE SKY on several dates on VADER’s headlining tour this November/December. Guitarist/scallywag Commodore Redrum offered the following “nautical non-sense”:

“Aye, since I’m (unfortunately) the least hammered right now out of us pirates three, suppose its my duty, nay, pleasure to fill yar salty ears with great news! After we finish pillaging thee European Paganfest, SWASHBUCKLE shall return to North America in support of the mighty VADER. We’re stoked and you should be too. Splash will meet thrash and partying will commence!”

LENG TCH’E – Issues Recording Update

Leng tch'e

Belgium grindcore specialists LENG TCH’E have been in the studio for the past few months tracking material for a new full-length effort. Here’s an update from the band:

“Drums were finished back in July in devastating fashion by Tony T. Shit was so fast we didn’t even have time to say ‘razorgrind’! Jan has been steadily laying down the guitars at his five star deluxe home studio since the beginning of this month and Serge started destroying microphones at Korbiar Studio last weekend. And finally, bass recording started yesterday at Svenchi’s (Aborted) Red Left Hand Studio and will be finished next week. So if everything goes according to plan, we’ll head of to ye olde England in two weeks where Mr...

Westfield, Massachusetts (USA) melodic metalcore act KILLSWITCH ENGAGE have announced they have to postpone their upcoming South America tour due to the illness of lead singer Howard Jones.

Here’s the band’s statement:

“Howard is currently bed-ridden with a gall stone issue and has been told by his doctor that he should not leave his bed until further notice. He is currently getting proper medical care and hopes to be on his feet and in less pain by the end of the week, at which time we will determine how soon we can reschedule these South America dates. Killswitch would like to apologize to their fans in South America for this set back and want to assure them that the band has every intention to make up these dates in the near future.

Killswitch would also like to thank Marcos Suar...

MEGADETH has definitely made a comeback statement with “Endgame”, comprised of eleven rocking thrash tunes that are undoubtedly Dave Mustaine at his pissed off best. Tracks like “44 Minutes” and “This Day We Fight” are eerily reminiscent of 1992’s epic Countdown To Extinction, showing us all that the old man does still have a few tricks up his sleeves. What I like most about the effort here from Dave and company is that it gets away from the slower, ballad-like tunes that would normally litter a 21st century era Megadeth CD, but this one is more like an end of the world battle going off at a flaming sunset. Endgame is gloriously catchy, and groovy-as-all-hell, nicely woven together with multiple guitar solos...

Macho Metal

Italy’s CARCHARODON has self-released “Macho Metal”, a rocking musical effort from a promising three member heavy metal outfit, mixing a thrashy death sound with a quirky Southern rock vibe. On the first track “Zombie Rodeo”, it’s definitive stoner metal meets New Orleans sludge – like if DOWN met up with EYEHATEGOD in a knife fight right behind the scene of a gig, and you can’t be mad at that kind of chaos. Next up, “Chromeland”, hints at a Zakk Wylde and BLACK LABEL SOCIETY influence, chugging away with vocalist Pico’s angry growling coming over the top. Track three’s “Behind The Sun” is more enraged and chaotic, filled with enough angst to fuel a dragster race car. The next set of ass kickers come in the form of “Squirtqueen”, and the bone gnawing “Mummified”...

Frontman Jamey Jasta had this to say regarding the new album: “This is our fifth studio album and it’s a monster! We’ve survived some pretty rough times and the music shows it. There was no reason to change the recipe that our fans know and love but we added a few brutal new ingredients and we’re more than amped on the results. Violence is a given!”
